I am not a medical expert, or a doctor, or a psychologist, or any
kind of mental health professional...
I can not tell you what is wrong with you, or promise you a magic cure
for self-injury...
I do not have a magic bullet to shoot your problems out of the air
and make everything better again...
If you are looking for that sort of thing, I'm afraid that you've come
to the wrong place. All I can give you is advice.
And my number one piece of advice is this - for diagnosis and treatment
you really need to see a mental health professional. If you are feeling
very unsafe you need to see someone who can help you. If you are injuring
yourself badly, or you are not sure whether your injuries need treatment,
then you need to go to a doctor/hospital. They will be able to assess your
physical and emotional state, and to help you decide what kind of treatment
you need.
And most especially, if you are having suicidal impulses, or having
strong urges to harm another person, or seeing and hearing things that
you KNOW are not really there, then you need to go to the hospital for
your own protection. I know it is scary... I know it will be the hardest
thing you have ever done, but they are there to help you. Phone your psychiatrist/therapist
if you have one, or talk to your family doctor if you have one of them,
or go to the hospital... or if you're too afraid to do any of those things,
then phone one of the mental health hotlines such as the Samaritans or
Lifeline and talk to them. PLEASE do not try and ride it out alone if you
are suicidal - I know exactly how terrifying it is to feel like that, and
I know what happens when the impulses override the rest of your brain.
Don't let that happen to you, because you might not live to tell the tale.
