THE LIGHT
~ Kyle
In the dark part of town
where no one ventures at night.
There sits in a room
a small little light.
The floors are all stained
the walls are peeling.
Water puddles in the corner
>From holes in the ceiling.
There in this room
Sits a small single light.
Shining bright yellow
Against a deep black night.
>From that darkness of night
Rips an unheard shout.
And that brave little light
Flickers once- and then out.

Flying
~
Kyle
I find myself flying.
The world rushes by
and the wind blows my hair
and I'm free as I soar through the air.
I see the world from a different side
from up high where the birds ride
on the sky's gentle breeze
I just wish the moment could freeze
and stay here indefinetly
but i can't, because I can't stop flying.
I fly faster and faster
this feeling won't last
everything rushes by in a blur
and just as suddenly as I started,
I stopped.

The sun falls behind horizon
The night has come for me.
Everyone else turns inside,
but No, not me-
the night falls with the sun-
And I reach to embrace her-
I watch as the last rays of sun fade
And the moon comes out to play.
I think of all the sun-sets of past,
and think to myself "Maybe this will be the last"

STORM
~Kyle
I go to the window and look at the sky.
Outside -- the temperature has fallen.
It's getting cold again, the leaves are gone.
Winter's here, it's no longer Autumn.
The sky is grey, and it's starting to snow.
I slip back inside where I know it's warm,
and go to my closet
to prepare for the storm.
Inside I seek refuge, a barrier from the cold.
I pull out my blanket, heavy and warm.
It's black woven threads pulled close around
I sit and I wait for this brewing storm.
Outside it rains, and it hails and it snows
I watch the storm as it blizzard and blows.
while inside the blanket, all wrapped up I smile.
and I know that I'm safe for the while.
I look again, and something's not right.
The sun is out, and everything's green not white.
Where's the snow? The hail? How can this be?
That's when it hit me.
The storm is in me.
